Then they need to start new ones. Maybe this is the so-called boomer in me but this just sounds like whining. “These old people won’t get out of the way for me.” Tell them they need to leave and build support to oust them if need be. But don’t wait for them to get out of the way.
I don't think there is record of another generation insisting on permanent youth to the degree boomers do. This attitude shorts out the natural development of mentorship and coaching.
Any prior generation have musical acts like the Rolling Stones and Beach Boys touring to large crowds into their 80's?
I’m sorry but this is just more whining. If The Rolling Stones or The Beach Boys want to continue singing and they keep drawing large audiences then good for them. (As an aside I’m not a big fan of either, I’m more of a Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, rat pack fan). Maybe new bands are not that good.
I just don’t understand why those that are still able should stop so new groups should supplant them. I’ll also add that medical advancement has allowed people to be productive beyond what it is used for be.
I’m glad to see your book getting exposure in Canada which dearly needs the information. Congratulations for proving that writing a book is still a powerful way of communicating important ideas internationally. By naming the Negative World, you have given people the ability to understand what they are experiencing. That’s why phrases like yours and Rob Henderson’s Luxury Beliefs are so important. You can’t think it if you can’t name it.
The post was good, until the whining about boomers not giving up power. Do you think the generation before boomers gave up their so-called power? If you look back at particularly Hollywood, those older actors did not go quietly into the night. The boomer actors did better and became greater box office. That's when the older actors started to fade.
The boomers do face a rather new choice though. Previous generations had the chance of filling expanding leadership and elite roles in the growing bureaucracy both private and government. Boomers preside over a different situation. in many cases, the slots for elite/leadership roles have either decreased or stagnated.

Thank you again, for posting an interesting guest article, particularly a movie review as good movies are hard to find these days. I just read a very good review of your book on a Canadian website CHP, https://www.chp.ca/commentary/positive-politics-in-a-negative-world?utm_source=Communique&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=CommuniqueAugust122025&utm_content=MoreLink .
