The Risks of Entering the Creator Economy

On Tuesday I wrote about career considerations around remote work. Today I want to write a bit about the risks of entering the creator economy.

When I was mostly focused on writing about cities, there were two questions that I used to get a lot. The first one was, “What is it that you actually do?” The other was, “How can I do what you do?”

A lot of people have come to me for advice over the years about how to become a public voice on the issues of the day like me.

I always have to tell them that I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone go into this line of work.
