Thoughts on Trump's First 100 Days
What Trump’s first 100 days reveal about power, policy, and the shifting cultural moment.
I try to limit how much I talk about politics, but it seems to be the topic everyone likes the most.
More than a year ago I decided to stop reading articles on three subjects: Ukraine, Gaza, and the election. That ended up being over half the papers some days. It was one of my better decisions.
Since the election, I’ve tried to limit how much Trump news I consume. But if anything the press is even more supersaturated by it than by the election. Even though I avoid reading the vast majority of it, I still feel like I’m consuming too much Trump-related content.
I don’t want the daily outrage cycle to drive my agenda or emotional state. You should be careful to protect yourself here as well.
But while I don’t know everything that’s going on with Trump, I’ve still absorbed a lot by osmosis. Here are a few brief thoughts on Trump’s second term and our cultural moment.
